Writing your college essay is an opportunity to show your best and most authentic self. It shouldn’t be a source of stress and worry! The Writers Circle’s private college essay coaching helps each student craft a strong essay with an eye toward building an application that highlights their strengths and shows how they would be an asset to an academic community. 

For a student just starting out, we recommend scheduling two sessions: The first is a brainstorming session where the instructor will guide the student toward finding an approach and topic that feels authentic to them and highlights their unique strengths and experiences. The second session will help the student craft their rough draft to ensure that the essay stands out to admissions committees.

Additional sessions to polish the essay and complete supplemental writing are also available upon request. Students who have already started writing and would like feedback on an essay-in-progress are welcome to jump right into the editing stage with our instructor.

We need to learn a bit about your project and creative circumstances in order to pair you with the very best author/instructor to address your personal and professional needs.  Once you've been assigned an editor/instructor, select them from the list below.

This introductory package includes:

CHAPTER REVIEW: Your editor will review the first 10,000 words of your manuscript.

• Formatting and delivery:
  • Please prepare your pages using standard publishing format:  12 pt. Times Roman font, double-spaced, and 1 inch margins.
  • Deliver your pages via email directly to your editor who will be in touch soon after you've made payment.
  • Word documents are preferred.  GoogleDocs are acceptable.  We cannot work with PDF or Pages formatted files.
    • Editors cannot review your chapters without correct formatting and delivery.  Please do not send hard-copy pages.

ONE-HOUR CONSULTATION: Your editor will meet with you either in person, on the phone, or via video chat to review your manuscript and discuss its merits, opportunities, challenges and next steps. This time may also be used to discuss marketing strategy, agents, publishing, etc.
